Lana Del Rey says she donated ticket sales from her latest US tour “back into” the cities she played.
“I just wanted to say thank you to you and just every city I’ve gone to before this… every ticket, every dollar, it is poured right back into the city,” the pop singer announced during the tour’s finale in Charleston, West Virginia.
“It’s not about [the money] for me,” Del Rey added. “I know that sounds cheesy, but I tour because I love it… I don’t need to. I just love it, and we’re all about the places we’ve been to.”
Del Rey released her ninth album, Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, back in March. Taylor Swift lauded the album as “extraordinary,” adding that Del Rey is “the best that we have. I think we need to make it a priority, as a group, to stream, buy, support this album and this artist.”
