It has been a good while since we heard anything about Dracula’s Daughter. Of course, it comes from Ready or Not and Scream directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett of Radio Silence. While the original title put everything on the line by being a little too revealing, the new title of Abigail leaves a little mystery and secrecy under its bloodthirsty belt.
In addition to those Radio Silence partners, we also have Chad Villella on as producer and William Sherak, Paul Neinstein, and James Vanderbilt from Project X Entertainment are joining forces too.
The trailer sets up a nice little surprise game of cat and mouse. The innocent girl shackled to the bed turns out to be the thing that these brave hunter/killers have to survive. And it looks to turn into a bloodbath pretty quickly.
The synopsis for Abigail goes like this:
Children can be such monsters. After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old ballerina daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to collect a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated mansion, the captors start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl.
Abagail stars Melissa Barrera, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Kevin Durand, Angus Cloud, as the kidnappers with Alisha Weias Abigail, and last but in no way least Giancarlo Esposito.
