Scary Movie franchise star Anna Faris would love to return for Scary Movie 6, but it comes with some simple conditions.
Faris starred as Cindy Campbell in the 2000 horror spoof of slashers such as Scream, and I Know What You Did Last Summer. She reprised the role in subsequent sequels, including 2006’s Scary Movie 4. She was not involved with the poorly received Scary Movie 5 in 2013, but that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t like to be a part of the series again after 18 years away.
Speaking to People, Anna Faris half-jokingly said her condition for returning would be money, but there was a more personal condition: if her former co-star Regina Hall also got to come back.
“I would love to work with Regina again. I just love her so much,” says Faris in the interview. “We would make each other giggle all day long. Regina Hall would be my answer. And money. But mostly all Regina!”
Scary Movie 6 reunion for Anna Faris and Regina Hall?
Hall starred as Brenda Meeks in the first four Scary Movie films, but like Faris, did not return for the fifth outing. Hall did appear in another parody movie in 2008’s Superhero Movie.
Whatever you might feel about the quality of the Scary Movie franchise, Faris and Hall’s ongoing partnership was one of the highlights.
Back in April Paramount and Miramax revealed Scary Movie 6 was in development from Fast and Furious producer Neal H. Moritz. No word has been given on the return of any series regulars. Faris and Hall’s four appearances each make them the most notable participants to date. Marlon and Shawn Wayans were featured in the first two. Charlie Sheen and Leslie Nielsen were also featured in two entries each.
During the original run of Scary Movie, the series brought in almost $900 million at the box office. That spawned a plethora of spoof movies of varying quality (the variance being exactly how bad they were). That included Disaster Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, and Marlon Wayans-starring A Haunted House.
