Dark Sky Films Announces The Launch Of DARK SKY SELECTS: “Dark Sky Films today announced the launch of their newly created, DARK SKY SELECTS, a new specialty label bringing some of our best films to the collector’s market with limited edition packaging, restored transfers and new special features. These new limited editions will offer die-hard fans and collectors new upgrades of many of their longtime favorite Dark Sky Films, produced for the purpose of making the definitive edition of these classics and modern favorites.
The first official release from Dark Sky Selects will be Hatchet: The Complete Collection Limited Edition Steelbook, which is being released in June and will be available for pre-order at Texas Frightmare Weekend starting tomorrow. This marks the first time all four of Adam Green’s iconic Hatchet films will be available together in one package.
Green’s iconic Hatchet series returns in a blood-soaked, fully Unrated collection, uniting all four films for the first time packaged as a 5-disc Blu-ray Limited Edition Steelbook featuring nearly two hours of new bonus features.
Unleashed at a time when the fun of 80s slashers had all but disappeared from the cinematic landscape, Hatchet ushered in a new era of terror with its unapologetic brutality and introduction of Victor Crowley, the modern bogeyman, who ruthlessly hunts those who dare
tread into his swamp. With each installment, the stakes escalate, delivering bigger, bloodier scares and a relentless barrage of inventive kills. So gather all your pieces, because it’s time to return to his swamp and learn once and for all that some legends truly never die.
The set will also include two brand new bonus pieces, Hatchet: Swamp Tales and Production Journals. This bonus material will be available exclusively with The Hatchet Complete Collection Limited Edition Steelbook.
Hatchet: The Complete Collection is the first of many iconic Dark Sky titles that will be available this year. Additional limited-edition releases of fan favorite films and merch will be announced throughout the year, which will only be available direct to consumer at DarkSkySelects.com
With nearly 50 years of commitment to great genre cinema on home video, MPI Home Video has a long tradition of bringing such greats as Tobe Hooper’s THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, John McNaughton’s HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, the FACES OF DEATH series and the gothic TV classic DARK SHADOWS to home video. In 2005 we created Dark Sky Films to bring new and classic genre films to DVD and expanded into original productions in 2008 with such modern classics as Ti West’s THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL and THE INNKEEPERS, Jim Mickle’s STAKE LAND and Ted Geoghegan’s WE ARE STILL HERE, among many more. Now, we’re taking those decades of excellence in genre film and putting it behind Dark Sky Selects, our new specialty label bringing some of our best films to the collector’s market with limited edition packaging, restored transfers and new special features.
With physical media becoming increasingly collector-driven, Dark Sky Selects is an opportunity for us to bring something back to the fans who have supported Dark Sky and MPI for so long.

INVERTED Trailer: “…the award-winning duo behind Deranged Minds Entertainment announced the official release date for their second feature-length horror film, “Inverted.” Splatter fans will be able to stream or purchase “Inverted” on DVD beginning May 28th.
Deranged Minds says, “Inverted is a psychedelic 1970s exploitation epic.”
The film follows an off-the-grid satanic cult in the 1970s that kidnap a group of hippies to brainwash and recruit for the Holy War against the second coming of Christ. The group has a choice to join the war or fight to survive one of the most brutal satanic cults in the annals of American history.
Mother Alma Fines (leader of the cult) is portrayed by Susan Lanier, star of Wes Craven’s 1977 cult classic, “The Hill’s Have Eyes.” Other notable cast members include Maria Olsen (“I Spit On Your Grave: Deja Vu”), Jeremy Gladen (“I See You”), Hannah Keeley (“No Game Like Foxes”) and Destinie Orndoff (“Red Eye”).
“Inverted” is an original story by Orndoff with the other half of Deranged Minds (Tristan Clay) directing. Deranged Minds added,
“Getting Inverted to the finish line was no easy feat but f*ck are we happy it’s finally here. It wouldn’t have been possible without the horror community supporting us. We also can’t thank the folks over at Twin Engines/Desk Pop Entertainment enough for believing in our nasty slice of throwback cinema in its entirety.”
Deranged Minds Entertainment was founded in 2015 by 18-year-old aspiring filmmakers, Tristan Clay and Destinie Orndoff. The dynamic duo became friends at an east coast horror convention earlier that year and quickly decided to work together to make their childhood dreams of becoming filmmakers a reality. You can watch their first feature-length horror film, “Red Eye” now on DVD and streaming.

THE RETURN OF CAMAZOTZ: “‘The Return of Camazotz’ is a gothic horror comic inspired by Mayan mythology published by Grimmcore Studios. The story follows twin brothers who are attacked by the ancient Mayan vampire god Camazotz during a trip to Mexico.
This bloody horror comic is inspired by the legend of Camazotz, a Mesoamerican deity of bats and blood that was worshipped by the Mayans through ritual sacrifice. Chicano writer Rafael Flores Jr. partnered with Brazilian artist Azrael Aguiar to create this series, which was first published as a short comic and was a finalist in the Negative Space Short Comics competition in 2022. Grimmcore Studios’ founder and editor Daniel Grimm picked the story from there and worked with the creative team in developing it into a full-fledged graphic novel, which will be published in 3 parts. Issue 1 was published through Kickstarter in 2023, garnering the attention of fans and critics…”

BRUTE 1976: “The slasher Brute 1976, director Marcel Walz’s (That’s a Wrap, Blood Feast Remake) throwback to horror classics like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, kicks off with a group of friends stumbling upon the desert town Savage while looking for a spot to set their latest photo shoot. They soon meet the depraved, mask-wearing Birdy family, who begin hunting them down one by one.
From Neon Noir, the upcoming Brute 1976 is said to be a love letter to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes, with Joe Knetter (Twilight of the Dead) writing.
The cast includes Adriane McLean (Miracles of Christmas), Sarah French (Blind), Gigi Gustin (The Retaliators), Dazelle Yvette (Garden of Eden) and Adam Bucci (NCIS Los Angeles).”
“I’ve always been a huge fan of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes, both the originals and remakes,” said Walz. “Brute 1976 was an amazing experience to shoot: It was hot, it was dirty and it was bloody. I’m sure the audience will feel that on screen.”
“Brute is our love letter to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which I consider to be the greatest horror film of all time,” said Knetter. “Shooting in the desert provided many challenges but our cast and crew really delivered something special.”
