Steven Soderbergh’s new film, Presence, has received a mysterious teaser trailer ahead of its theatrical release on January 17th, 2025. Watch it below.
Presence is a psychological thriller that centers around the Payne family — portrayed by Lucy Liu, Chris Sullivan, Eddy Maday, and Callina Liang — who unwittingly move into a haunted house sold to them by a real estate agent played by Julia Fox.
The teaser itself doesn’t give much insight into the movie. Instead, it lists some of Soderbergh’s past films, including Traffic, Contagion, and Magic Mike before slowly panning around a suburban home.
Similarly, the logline simply says, “A family moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they’re not alone.”
Directed by Soderbergh, Presence was penned by David Koepp, best known for his work on Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, and Spider-Man. West Mulholland also stars. The film’s theatrical release will come one year after it debuted at Sundance 2024.
Up next for Soderbergh is another collaboration with Koepp titled Black Bag. The spy thriller stars Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, and Regé-Jean Page.
