Video Interview: William Sadler Discusses THE YETI and Reflects on the First Episode of TALES FROM THE CRYPT

With an acting career that includes three Frank Darabont films, a role as Death in the Bill & Ted universe, and a villain in the Die Hard franchise (just to name a few), William Sadler has a lot of amazing cinematic experiences to reflect upon, and after decades after bringing memorable stories to life onscreen, he’s still adding new roles to his eclectic résumé for fans to enjoy.

The latest of those roles is Hollis Bannister, a famous explorer who is given the unexpected opportunity to make peace with his estranged cartographer daughter (Brittany Allen) while protecting a deadly secret in the harsh and icy wilderness in the new film The Yeti.

An ambitious period piece, character study, and creature feature all rolled into one, The Yeti is now lurking on digital platforms via Well Go USA after playing in AMC Theaters on April 4th and 8th.

To celebrate The Yeti stomping onto digital, Daily Dead had the great pleasure of catching up with William Sadler to discuss his new film, including his character’s intriguing parental conflict, working with practical effects (such as a towering Yeti suit), and filming in his hometown of Buffalo, New York.

William also reflected on how the slightest comment led to him getting the chance to audition for and eventually play vigilante Niles Talbot in the very first episode of Tales from the Crypt (which will begin streaming May 1st on Shudder)—a role that would open the door to many acting opportunities throughout his storied career, including his role as Heywood in Frank Darabont’s The Shawshank Redemption (based on the novella by Stephen King).
