Thalapathy Vijay‘s blockbuster, Leo, has been breaking box office records since its release. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film pays homage to David Cronenberg’s A History of Violence (2005). Leo revolves around the story of a café owner who becomes a local hero through an act of violence. However, his actions set off consequences connected to an old life he left behind.
The film stars Thalapathy Vijay alongside Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Madonna Sebastian, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, George Maryan, Priya Anand, and Mathew Thomas. The film had a worldwide release on October 19, 2023, and is accessible in dubbed versions in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Leo collects USD 74 million worldwide
As per reports, Leo has collected USD 74 million worldwide. This resulted in the collection of USD 50 million from the Indian market, supplemented by an additional USD 23 million earned by overseas audiences. The Thalapathy Vijay starrer is now the second highest-grossing Kollywood film in both the Indian and global box office.
However, in its native Tamil language, Leo has become the highest-grossing film ever, crossing the milestone of USD 59 million with a total of USD 63 million, surpassing the previous record held by Jailer at USD 59 million.
Leo collected the highest in North America with USD 5.75 million, USD 6.70 million in the Middle East, USD 2.80 million in Malaysia, USD 1.95 million in the UK and USD 2.10 million in Europe. Following this, the film grossed USD 1.51 million in Singapore, USD 1.06 million in Australia/New Zealand, USD 0.82 million in France, and USD 0.80 million in Sri Lanka.
The film is produced by S. S. Lalit Kumar and Jagadish Palanisamy for Seven Screen Studio. Leo will premiere on Netflix on November 24, 2023, in India and on November 28, 2023, worldwide.
