Directed by iHorror Award winner Fede Álvarez, renowned for his work on “Evil Dead” and “Don’t Breathe”, “Alien: Romulus” features a stellar ensemble cast including Cailee Spaeny as Rain, the Ripley-esque lead, and David Jonsson as Andy, her android brother. Joining them are Isabela Merced, Archie Renaux, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu, each contributing to the intensity of the narrative.
The plot unfolds as the group of scavengers unwittingly stumble upon an abandoned Weyland-Yutani research ship on the enigmatic world of Romulus. However, their exploration unleashes a terror beyond comprehension as they come face to face with the dreaded xenomorphs, plunging them into a battle for survival against the most terrifying life form in the universe.
Isabela Merced, who plays a significant role in the film, has teased a scene of such visceral horror that even the crew couldn’t bear to watch. During reshoots, Merced was handed an iPad to view playback, witnessing a moment so disturbing that it left everyone present squirming in discomfort.
Scheduled for release on August 16th, “Alien: Romulus” promises to deliver a return to the gritty, suspenseful atmosphere that made the original franchise a cult classic.
