Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City has been filled to the brim with drama. Every single cast member has been involved in screaming matches, leveling accusations at their co-stars, and being super shady.
Of course, Season 4 of RHOSLC gifted us the shocker that newbie housewife Monica Garcia was up to no good. And by no good, I mean she was part of the Reality Von Tease account. After Heather Gay outed her, the cast didn’t want Monica on the show.
So, Lisa Barlow’s fabulous friend Bronwyn Newport signed on for Season 5. At Lisa’s Galentine’s event, Bronwyn made a show-stopping entrance in a giant heart-shaped coat. It was certainly on theme.
Now that the season is winding down, how did Bronwyn rate as a newbie? She was certainly a fan favorite. Let’s look at why Bronwyn Newport deserves a second season.
Bronwyn Newport is a fashionista
From the jump, it was obvious that Bronwyn was fluent in fashion. She attends all the couture and fashion shows, including Paris Couture, New York Fashion Week, and Milan Fashion Week.
New Friend of the cast Britani Bateman made an enemy for life when, during the Season 5 RHOSLC premiere, she said, “Bronwyn, I love your costume.” Naturally, Bronwyn was offended and wasted no time hitting back.
“My costume! Oh, you can’t come to this couch with Mary [Cosby] and me and call this costume,” Bronwyn said. “That’s fighting words.” So, Bronwyn bonded instantly with Mary while starting a feud with Britani. What amazing instincts for a newbie.
Evidently, Bronwyn has no fear when it comes to her wardrobe. She will wear bold, shocking, and elegant looks. However you might feel about fashion, Bronwyn is never boring. Her biggest competitor in the fashion department is Mary, and Bronwyn is probably tied with the show’s original fashion icon.
However, I adore how Bronwyn picks up her husband, Todd Bradley, at the airport. Every time, Bronwyn dons an actual costume. Imagine arriving and seeing a shark or a panda waving at you. Poor Todd may not seem overjoyed, but something tells me he appreciates the effort. Way to keep your marriage spicy, Bronwyn!
Bronwyn Newport isn’t afraid to speak her mind on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Of course, Bronwyn isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She has zero fear, and that is impressive. In fact, Bronwyn sparred with her good friend, Lisa, several times. During the couples’ trip to Palm Springs to celebrate Bronwyn and Todd’s anniversary, Lisa and Bronwyn clashed.
When Bronwyn came out to the pool and saw Lisa video-chatting with Heather, she was furious. Bronwyn excluded Heather from the trip, and she felt betrayed by Lisa. Then Todd, who is not made for reality TV, warned Lisa’s hubby, John Barlow that if Lisa didn’t locate her mute button, they had to leave.
Once again, during Lisa’s Puerto Vallarta trip, Bronwyn had issues. First of all, the poor woman went on the trip after being attacked and bitten by a dog.
Then, she felt under attack from Lisa. The property boasted two villas, each with four bedrooms. Instead of being in Lisa’s villa, along with Heather, Meredith Marks, and Britani, she had to slum it in the second villa. Bronwyn was bunking with Angie Katsanevas, Mary (when she arrived), and Whitney Rose. And that was not okay with Bronwyn.
“I’m so f*cking furious about this. Lisa is my closest friend in this group, so I know when Lisa’s sending me a message,” Bronwyn stated in her confessional. “I’m being put in my place.”
Instead, Bronwyn let Lisa know that she wasn’t pleased. When Lisa tried to justify her decisions, Bronwyn was annoyed. “You know, Lisa … I can also tell you how I f*cking feel, and you can be a mature enough person to hear it without trying to tell me I’m wrong,” Bronwyn responded. One thing is for certain with Bronwyn. You will always know how she feels, even if the delivery can be a bit sharp.
Bronwyn isn’t afraid to stir the pot on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
Bronwyn clocked in this season, and she hasn’t taken a break. From feuding with Lisa and slamming Britani, Bronwyn has no qualms about stirring the pot.
During the Camp Kumbuya event that Whitney and Heather hosted, Bronwyn announced that she was surprised that they were working together. When asked why, she told Heather that Whitney claimed that Heather was more interested in being friends with Lisa than her. In the end, Heather already knew this information, so it was no big deal.
At the same event, Angie told Bronwyn to “shut the f*ck up.” Bronwyn carried her fury into Meredith’s bat mitzvah when she couldn’t resist shoving Britani under the bus. “Britani told me earlier she thinks you called her a slut because you’re one,” Bronwyn told Angie. Poor Britani thought she was finally buddies with Bronwyn. “Britani wanted to be friends with me for a hot minute,” Bronwyn said in her confessional. “I gave her a solid five.” Savage!
And, before the Palm Springs trip, Bronwyn invited Heather over to try and see if they could be amicable. However, Heather realized that she was there to “sing for my supper” and kiss Bronwyn’s ring. For her part, Bronwyn was sorry that they got off on the wrong foot. However, Heather refused to participate further and left.
Obviously, Bronwyn’s skill at stirring the pot is mandatory for a housewife. For her ability to create drama, her feuds, and her fashion, Bronwyn Newport deserves a second season on RHOSLC.
Real Housewives of Salt Lake City returns on Wednesday, January 8 at 9/8c on Bravo.
