Chrishell Stause has made it clear that she wants to move on from Selling Sunset. However, the reality star still has one concern about the Netflix show’s future. She plans to keep an eye on what happens after her departure and has warned that she will take legal action if anyone crosses a line.
Chrishell Stause says lawyers will monitor Selling Sunset Season 10 for defamation
Stause confirmed that she will not watch Season 10 of Selling Sunset. Speaking at a creators event on Wednesday, October 21, she explained her decision and said she wished the cast well.
“I won’t [watch],” she said. Stause also made clear that her decision was not driven by animosity toward the show.
Stause said she would have lawyers review the new season for possible defamation.
“I’ll have lawyers let me know if there’s defamation,” she explained.
She then shared her view on leaving the series, saying, “If you love something, let it go.” Stause wants the cast to continue without her while she focuses on life beyond the show.
The reality star also reflected on what the series brought her over the years.
“I had a good time with that show,” she said, adding that it gave her “a lot of really amazing things.”
She said she hopes her former castmates can continue working and enjoy their time on the show. However, Stause also made her legal warning clear.
“That being said, don’t defame me. I will sue you,” she said.
Stause previously explained her exit in an interview with Bustle. After nine seasons, she said she no longer needed the show financially because she had other work opportunities. She also said the series was no longer good for her mental health.
While Stause does not plan to watch Season 10 herself, she intends to have her lawyers alert her if the show makes potentially defamatory claims about her.
