Elon Musk thinks Homelander‘s final minutes in The Boys were “pathetic.” The billionaire made it evident on social media. However, the showrunner embraced his verdict in an interesting way.

Elon Musk recently expressed his unhappiness over Homelander’s final scene in The Boys Season 5 Episode 8. Before Billy Butcher brutally kills him, Homelander pleads for his life, even offering sexual favors to Butcher.
On X, Musk replied to the scene by simply writing, “Pathetic”. It didn’t take long for showrunner Eric Kripke to notice Musk’s reaction. Being overjoyed by the billionaire’s stance, he replied, “OMG this is his review of what @TheBoysTV did to Homelander, I’ll never get a better review ever.”
Moreover, The Boys’ cast also reacted to Musk’s verdict with funny emojis on Instagram.
Musk’s response isn’t the only incident of The Boys making headlines this week. Following Episode 8’s premiere, the show ended up receiving negative reactions from series fans. Especially those who watched the spin-off Gen V and found that The Boys’ ending barely featured the characters of Gen V.
For example, Marie Moreau’s character was hyped up as someone who would eventually kill Homelander. But the ending made it clear that she was never in a position to get involved in the big fight. She was mostly assigned to do crowd control.
Then there was the situation of fans calling out the show for sharing misleading posters. Before the finale, several posters suggested mass destruction caused by Homelander. Also, Vought’s complete downfall was shown at the hands of Billy Butcher in one of the posters. However, fans believed that the final battle had a different outcome compared to what the posters promised.
All eight episodes of The Boys Season 5 are now available to stream on Prime Video. While the show has concluded after 7 years, the overall franchise will continue to exist with a new spin-off, Vought Rising, set to arrive next year.
