THE YELLOW BALLOON: “Dead End Films Unleashes The Yellow Balloon: The Curse of Vincent Vile, a Practical-FX Horror-Comedy Built for Cult Horror Fans

The completed 87-minute feature blends cursed balloons, carnival chaos, a sinister ringmaster, and goo-soaked practical effects as Dead End Films begins press, review, podcast, and distributor outreach.

Antioch, CA — Dead End Films has completed The Yellow Balloon: The Curse of Vincent Vile, an 87-minute horror-comedy feature built around a cursed yellow balloon, a sinister ringmaster named Vincent Vile, and a cabin weekend that spirals into practical-FX carnival chaos.

The film follows Mia, who escapes to a remote cabin with her closest friends after a painful breakup. What begins as a weekend away slowly mutates into something stranger and more dangerous when an eerie local warning, a growing presence of unnatural yellow balloons, and the shadow of Vincent Vile begin closing in around the group.

Designed for cult horror-comedy audiences, The Yellow Balloon combines contained indie horror, surreal carnival imagery, absurdist menace, and handmade practical effects. The film leans into a simple but instantly visual hook: a cursed yellow balloon that turns something innocent into something threatening.

“The goal was to make something strange, funny, disgusting, and memorable,” said Jason D. Morris, producer/director of The Yellow Balloon. “We wanted the film to feel handmade in the best way, with practical effects, a weird central villain, and a concept that horror fans could understand immediately.”

The Yellow Balloon has already received early review coverage from indie and horror outlets and is currently being presented to distributors, reviewers, press outlets, and horror-focused podcasts. The film is completed, screeners are available for qualified press and distribution consideration, and release details will be announced when distribution is finalized.”

WHILE WE BURN #1: A Dark Fantasy Comic Anthology: “The Log Line: Fire magic gave birth to monsters and shattered the world. 100 years later, an old chronicler tries to save it by telling his stories.

“While We Burn” is a series of short dark fantasy stories in a comic format, set in the medieval world consumed by monsters and darkness.

In this dark fantasy universe created from scratch, you will follow the paths of diverse characters struggling to survive as you uncover the mystery of the fallen kingdom on a journey where no one is safe and monsters prevail.

4 short stories – that’s what will be included in the first issue of While We Burn. All in the same universe, all connected to each other, but at the same time – all telling different tales.

While creating them, the main task was to keep the quality of a classic comic story and adapt it to a shorter format, while preserving interesting characters and making each one unique and memorable.

Every reader can find a short story that sounds interesting to them, read it and afterwards decide if they want to follow along the whole adventure, since every story stands on its own. Immerse yourself in a violent and dark fantasy with deadly monsters and not so deadly humans and solve the mystery of why the world has gone dark.”

THE BLOODLINE OF BATHORY: “A chilling new supernatural horror inspired by the infamous legend of Elizabeth Bathory is preparing to emerge from the shadows. The Bloodline of Bathory, produced by Natasha Tosini, blends gothic horror, psychological tension and dark humour into a claustrophobic nightmare where history refuses to stay buried. The production utilises extensive practical effects work to recreate the brutality and physical horror associated with the Bathory legend.

Set against the eerie backdrop of a supposedly historic Bathory site in Yorkshire, the film follows a group of young women whose overnight stay inside a commercialised tourist attraction spirals into terror after they uncover a disturbing diary tied to Bathory’s blood-soaked legacy. As the house twists into an inescapable labyrinth and a supernatural force awakens within its walls, the group soon realise they are trapped inside something far older… and far more dangerous, than they could have ever imagined.

Combining gothic European folklore with claustrophobic survival horror, The Bloodline of Bathory aims to resurrect the atmosphere of classic supernatural cinema through a modern lens. The film merges historical mythology, practical effects-driven horror, and psychological dread into a contemporary nightmare.

    SYNOPSIS

The Bloodline of Bathory follows four young women who visit what they believe to be a historic Elizabeth Bathory attraction in Yorkshire, only to discover it is little more than a staged Airbnb experience built upon ancient ground. But when a double booking forces them to stay overnight, their harmless getaway quickly descends into something sinister after they uncover a disturbing diary connected to Bathory’s legacy.

As darkness falls, the house itself begins to change. Doors lead to impossible places, exits loop endlessly back inside, and reality slowly fractures around them. When an ancient evil awakens within the walls, the survivors are thrust into a brutal fight for survival against a blood-obsessed descendant tied directly to the spirit of Elizabeth Bathory herself.

Blending supernatural horror with psychological dread, The Bloodline of Bathory explores themes of vanity, immortality, obsession, lineage, and the terrifying idea that some legends never truly die.”

Directed by Bryan Norris, the film stars Kelly Rian Sanson, Natasha Tosini, Jasmine Sumner, Claudia Gregory, Gemma Gordon, and Michael Geary. A 2026 London premiere is expected, with more release details to follow.
