Kevin Sorbo Says He’s ‘Done’ With California for Good

Kevin Sorbo has no plans to trade Florida sunshine for his former life in California. More than two decades after Andromeda ended, the actor says he has firmly closed that chapter. Sorbo still misses parts of the Golden State. However, he believes his move to Florida gave him something more important than perfect weather.

Kevin Sorbo says he prefers Florida after leaving California

In an interview with Fox News, Sorbo explained why he has no interest in moving back to California.

The 67-year-old actor left the state for Florida nearly seven years ago. He admitted that he still misses Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks, his old home, and the golf course he once frequented.

Sorbo also acknowledged Florida’s intense summer humidity. Still, he believes the state’s winters and overall atmosphere make the trade worthwhile. “They can keep their taxes, they can keep their traffic, and they can keep their negativity,” he said. “I’m done.”

Sorbo told Fox that he has found more “acceptance” since relocating. He also said his production company has connected him with independent filmmakers from across the country.

The former Andromeda star has often criticized Hollywood during his post-network television career. In the latest interview, he again claimed the entertainment industry sidelines performers who openly express conservative or Christian views.

Sorbo argued that those differences should not prevent people from working together. He compared Hollywood’s alleged treatment of ideological outsiders to “seventh grade mean girls.”

The actor made the comments while promoting his new faith-based movie Elijah Peel. He plays a rock star who reassesses his life after a health scare and an unexpected encounter with a sick child. Sorbo spent years in California while building his television career. He played Dylan Hunt on Andromeda from 2000 until the sci-fi series ended in 2005.

Still, his latest comments leave little room for another cross-country move. As OK! reported, Sorbo believes the professional connections and lifestyle he found in Florida outweigh what he left behind.

For Kevin Sorbo, California may hold plenty of memories, but Florida now feels like home.
