It seems like Luann de Lesseps has mostly been focusing on moving herself forward and manifesting her next career and romantic pursuits. However, Luann’s clearly left the friendship she and Bethenny Frankel formed throughout Real Housewives of New York in her past, and she hasn’t shied away from throwing a little shade every now and then.
Over the past year, Luann appeared on both Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip Season 4 and Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake. She’s also currently having a pretty successful run with her newest cabaret show, Marry F Kill. In an interview, she took the opportunity to celebrate her recent victories – and roast Bethenny a bit.
Luann on her recent success: “…as I am doing British Vogue, [Bethenny] is getting kicked out of Chanel”
It wasn’t too long ago that Luann was struggling with alcoholism, had been traveling, and had been to prison. In a video chat with Entertainment Tonight last week, she discussed how her revamped life is now guided by “pure joy.”
“My team cracked me up, they’re like, ‘It’s the Lu-naissance,’” she joked of her recent booked and busy-ness.
What began as a bit of a far-fetched hobby we watched dawn on RHONY years ago, Luann’s cabaret tour has evolved into a legitimate thing. Even Tilda Swinton is a fan. Luann also performed for an audience of thousands at London’s Mighty Hoopla festival earlier this month.
Lu recalled, “It was like a sea of people. It was, like, 30,000 people! I’ve never played to do crowd that big. … It was like Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.”
While all of that has been going on for Lu, Bethenny began another crusade besides taking down reality TV: taking down Chanel on TikTok after she was denied entry to a store that was holding a private event. Luann has caught wind of B’s 100+ videos about it.
Luann explained, “I don’t follow Bethenny, and so, no, I have not been following, but I have heard.”
Then, Luann gave the people what they want. “I have heard, as I am doing British Vogue, she is getting kicked out of Chanel. So, there you go. Success is the best revenge.”
Ouch. I guess being a “sicko for cabaret” has paid off for Lu, after all!
