Stephen Colbert recently called Donald Trump’s sleeping schedule into question on an episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Trump’s account recently made multiple posts on Truth Social late at night, posting over 50 times across several hours. Colbert joked that Trump was online late at night as part of his preparation for his China trip and stated, “Last night, Trump prepped for his enormously consequential state visit [to China] by staying up late on social media, gunking up the internet tubes with a waterfall of paranoid madness.”
Colbert then pondered when the President sleeps, before showing a picture of Trump appearing to have dozed off at an Oval Office event. He went on to quip, “Oh, right. I forgot. There you go.”
In one of the recent posts on Truth Social, Trump’s account shared another post saying his predecessor, Barack Obama, should be arrested while also calling him a “traitor.” In another post, the President bashed the New York Times in a lengthy message.
After photos and videos of Trump seemingly sleeping at an event at the Oval Office went viral, the White House’s Rapid Response account posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) in response to an image of Trump from the event with his eyes closed. Their reply reads, “He was blinking, you absolute moron.” A user went on to call out the team’s response and commented, “This is one of the dumbest responses i have ever seen.” Another user wrote, “Lying straight to our faces as if there’s no VIDEO PROOF.”
