Summer House Season 10 Episode 6 Recap: Old Feelings Die Hard

Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 6. Last week, Dara took the house by storm when she caught the eyes of both Ben and KJ. However, KJ was the one who Dara connected with the most. And Jesse found himself in hot water with Ciara when she found out he asked West if he could make out with her in a “joking” way. Was Jesse’s honorary Bed Bug card now revoked? Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 6: “The Joke’s on You.”

Kyle finally did right by Amanda by giving her an epic birthday dinner and gift. However, Bailey made the dinner extra memorable when she announced that Ben wanted to sleep with Amanda. Meanwhile, Ciara crushed any dreams Jesse had of them being together when she put him on probation for asking West if he could make out with her. With Jesse out of the way, West and Ciara got closer. But West still wasn’t sure how they could move forward.

Kyle was called out for not investing in Carl’s Soft Bar

Jesse’s and Ciara’s awkward conversation about him asking West if he could make out with her wrapped up with a hug. They each said “I love you,” and Jesse apologized once again. Ciara said, “It’s ok. Now get out of my room.” Jesse quickly ran away with his tail tucked in between his legs.

West was on standby and was very curious as to what went down. Jesse said they were fine but he felt bad. In his confessional he shared he misread the situation as something more casual and noted what he did was “dumb.” Which was the exact opposite of what he was saying last week in that he wanted to settle down. While Jesse wallowed in self-pity, West seemed relieved.

Then it was time for the group to get together for Amanda’s birthday dinner. A professional chef whipped up Italian cuisine and dirty martinis.

While freshly made pasta was passed around at the table, Ben brought up that Carl was hard at work opening Soft Bar. Ben must have learned a thing or two from Lindsay last weekend as he then called out Kyle for not investing in it.

Kyle stammered that he had to cut a check of his own money to make payroll for Loverboy, so Carl should understand why he couldn’t invest. Jesse noted that it was more about the sentiment for Carl and not the money. A conversation between the two needed to be had.

The group then went around the table, all saying something nice about Amanda. When it got to Ben, he started to talk about her smile and eyes. Bailey cut him off and blurted, “I was gonna say, Ben’s gonna talk about how he definitely wants to sleep with you.” Record scratch!

Everyone suddenly wanted to hide under the table. Bailey doubled down and said, “I know the story.” A shocked Ben continued, “I like the way you can walk into a room and you can brighten it up with your smile.” Kyle laughed and said, “This group’s tough man, I’m telling you.” Bailey was stirring things up!

Afterwards, Kyle stunned Amanda with a Cartier watch. But he had no money to invest in Soft Bar? Later, the guys all convened in Club Send It. When Ben huffed he would not “f*ck my mate’s missus,” the guys rolled on the ground in laughter. Jesse gasped, “I can’t believe that’s how you talk, for serious!”

But that light-hearted moment was cut short when Ben went to visit Bailey in her room. Ben was cold and asked Bailey why she said that. She responded she was just joking because he and Amanda “always joke about how like you would if you could.”

Ben denied that completely. There was no romance with Amanda. He said, “I just don’t think that you’re joking. I think there’s something else going on and I don’t know what it is. Cause it’s not funny.” Ben then got up to leave, which upset Bailey, who asked him to stay and hear her out.

Bailey said, “I took an inside joke you guys had too far. I’m sorry.” Ben said, “Apology accepted.” But things did not end on a good note, with Bailey going into the bathroom to cry.

Meanwhile, Mia had been spying the entire time and ran to tell KJ and Ciara the tea. KJ cracked up during her story, and Ciara suddenly looked at Ben differently. She flipped her hair back and joked, “I like Ben. Ben’s got anger issues.”

Ciara and West were vibing again

Before everyone left to go party, the girls checked in on Bailey. Bailey apologized to Amanda for her joke. Amanda said she was fine, but it was Ben who was uncomfortable. Bailey quipped, “I don’t give a sh*t about Ben, I’m sorry.”

After a long night out, the party kept going once they came home. And West and Ciara were getting quite cozy again with West literally sitting on top of her.

Ciara said in her confessional, “Ok, here’s the thing about West when he sits on you. He has a crush. He did it before we even first started dating and whatnot; he sat on me. Fast forward to now. It’s so West-coded … I’m like, ‘Okay, you love me; that’s fine.’ But like, why now?”

Kyle hopped in bed with West and stated the obvious. West and Ciara were vibing again. In his confessional, West flip-flopped on it being a crush or not because they weren’t friends during the day. He said, “It’s not a breakfast crush. Or a lunch crush.”

Then Ciara and West randomly met up in the kitchen. That buffalo chicken dip wasn’t going to eat itself. West stumbled over his words and said, “I don’t know how to talk to you if I’m being so honest.” Ciara noted she had “designed it that way.”

In her confessional, Ciara shared that flirting at night was fine, but she wasn’t quite ready to be vulnerable during the day. A nighttime crush it was, then.

Ciara told West she didn’t trust him and that she had her guard up. West said, “And I’m sorry. And it’s my fault. I just like, I don’t know when is correct for you.”

The next morning they all headed off to a winery. Bailey predicted that she might pop off on Ben. She told Levi, “Yesterday I was sad; today I’m angry.”

West continued to flirt with Ciara by not giving up riding shotgun. Kyle was loving it. He shared a pic to the group he snapped of the two in the club, with West cuddled up on Ciara.

At the winery, Bailey did not pop off on Ben, but things got awkward when she switched seats. Later, Ciara and Ben had a heart-to-heart. Ben revealed he had met someone before the summer but felt things were moving too fast. When he told her he couldn’t commit, she ended things. But it was clear Ben still had feelings.

And speaking of feelings, KJ was in his feels about Dara. Back at the house, he told Amanda and Ciara he had been texting her all weekend. When Amanda wondered if he was moving too fast, KJ said no. He didn’t like to play games. This man is a keeper!

Meanwhile, West pulled Ben aside to discuss his feelings for Ciara. He said, “When Ciara and I were like together, it was like dreamy.” Ben wondered what happened. West said, “I mean, she wants a good, good boyfriend … and I was not in that place at all.” When West said he missed Ciara, Ben asked, “Does she know that?” West sighed. “She knows, but I don’t know what else to do.”

Summer House airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It can be streamed on Peacock the next day.
