Fox‘s game show lineup is about to look a lot different this summer. The 1% Club and The Quiz With Balls are scheduled to be taken off the air for several weeks.
Both shows will air new episodes on Monday, June 8, like they normally do. Then, they won’t show a new episode again until July 13, according to a rep for the show.
The Quiz With Balls is hosted by Jay Pharoah. On the game show, fans answer questions by standing in front of the correct answers. If they get it right, they stay in the game. If they get it wrong, a huge ball rolls down a track and knocks them into the water. The winning team goes to the bonus round to try to win up to $100,000.
The 1% Club, now hosted by Joel McHale, puts contestants’ knowledge to the test. They have to try to correctly answer questions that Americans were polled on. It gets harder as it goes on. Whoever makes it all the way to the one percent question has the chance to win the jackpot, which can go up to $100,000.
If fans are not caught up on the current seasons of the shows, they can watch past episodes on Hulu. Previous seasons can also be streamed there.
This is because the World Cup kicks off on June 11 and goes until July 19. The soccer tournament airs on Fox and will directly impact the shows that are already airing on the station. This year, the World Cup is taking place in Mexico, Canada, and the USA.
Luckily, another Fox game show, The Floor, will not be affected. The two-hour finale will take place on Wednesday, June 10, one day before FIFA kicks off its events.
Although not a game show, MasterChef will also be off during that time. That will resume on July 15.
When the shows come back from a break, game show lovers can tune in to two new seasons of shows. Beat Shazam returns for Season 8 on July 28. The newest show, Nation’s Dumbest, premieres on July 15. Nation’s Dumbest “channels celebrities’ inner school spirit as they head back to summer school, facing a mix of brain-teasing tasks, fast-paced physical challenges, and long-buried classroom knowledge,” according to a press release.
