Since Season 5, Kenya Moore has been a staple on Real Housewives of Atlanta. The mother of one has given us moments like “Twirl” and “Gone with the Wind fabulous!” So it feels icky to think that Kenya won’t participate in Season 16. This is the woman who brought a bullhorn and scepter to a reunion. Who doesn’t appreciate a good prop? The ATL villain embraced her quirks and used them to her advantage. Even though she didn’t always make friends, she made for good TV. So, I can’t help but wonder if Bravo is making a major mistake in letting her go.
Kenya Moore is the drama
Everyone on the Real Housewives of Atlanta had a part to play. Kandi Burruss was the level-headed, driven one. Marlo Hampton was the ‘friend of.” Shereé Whitfield was the one asking, “Who gonna check me boo?” And Kenya. Well, Kenya was the one who delivered TV entertainment. She hired a marching band to crash Marlo’s wig launch. The actress didn’t even balk when provoking Porsha Williams. She flirted with Apollo Nida. And she showed every single relationship to cameras.
The woman was a goldmine and, frankly, an evil genius. The former pageant queen would have one conversation with her costars, and she could understand them like the back of her hand. That’s a superpower. Kenya could get under someone’s skin without going too far below the belt. Though some of her attacks were questionable, most were just intense shade. And to that, I say throw the ladies an umbrella!
Kenya is usually on the right side of history
There are multiple moments when fans might have questioned Kenya’s beefing, but she always was right. Take her issues with Porsha and Phaedra Parks. After disagreeing over a fitness video, Kenya walked away from the project. However, Frick and Frack ended up constructing one of the most horrendous lies in Real Housewives history.
Kenya also never got along with Kim Zolciak. So when the Season 10 reunion showed the cast rallying against Kim for her supposed racism, it showed that Kenya could read these ladies like an open book once again. The season in question showed Kim calling NeNe Leakes “sick and disgusting” for living in a “roach nest.” Kenya and the other women had explained to Kim that the term felt racially motivated and had cultural implications.
During the most recent Season 15 reunion, Kenya checked Ralph Pittman calmly and quietly. Throughout the entire season, Ralph put on a nice guy performance, including a soft voice. But everyone knew the man had disrespected his wife and cheated on her. The way Kenya did it right back to his smug little face was everything.
Bravo said less of Kenya Moore
Kenya was recently suspended from Season 16 filming after allegedly decorating her Kenya Hair Spa grand opening with enlarged photos of newbie Brittany Eady giving oral sex to a mystery man. However, only days later, it was revealed that the mother of one had been fired from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Angry fans had accused Kenya of partaking in revenge porn, but the former housewife denied the allegations.
In the social media post, Kenya wrote, “I would never engage in revenge porn; I have never distributed private images or footage of anyone, nor solicited images owned by others to use to threaten or blackmail. I have always been vindicated. I can’t talk about STORY even with people planting fake news.” Bravo has not indicated how Kenya’s exit will impact the new season. Filming for Season 16 was in the early days, so it could be possible that the network cut her out completely, making sure no scenes with her air. Kenya always has her receipts, so as a fan, I am interested in how she proves her innocence.
I have always viewed Kenya as a sympathetic villain, the Anakin Skywalker of Real Housewives of Atlanta. So I hope the Force is with her because I will miss Kenya on my small screen.
