Christina Applegate took to Instagram to share a fresh new blonde look.
However, the attention quickly went to a new spot on her face. There is speculation about what caused the mark.
Christina Applegate showed a mysterious new spot on her cheek but did not reveal what caused it
Applegate posted a video on Instagram on Sept. 21 which showed her in a fresh new look. The actress was seen sporting blonde hair, wearing jeans and a black zip-up hoodie.
However, as soon as she turned to the side, a discoloration on her chin became prominent. According to E! News, the 54-year-old also shared a post on Instagram Stories that gives a close-up view of the pigmentation. The cause of this new spot is not clear as of now.
“Fresh hair color, new weird spot on my cheek haha,” Applegate wrote in the caption. She then thanked stylist Dave Stanwell, adding, “Thank you @davestanwell for brightening up my cloudy day. Love you and love to you all out there.”
Applegate has always been frank and candid about her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis in 2021. In her memoir, “You With the Sad Eyes,” she wrote about her physical challenges of living with the disease.
She wrote, “When I wake up, I often can’t get my arm to move far enough to grab the cup of water by my bed or my phone from its charger.”
The actress also added, “One of the worst side effects of the illness is the exhaustion. It feels as though I’ve been on a three-day-long sleepless bender.”
Despite the challenging disease, the actress has continued using humor to talk about the disease. During her 2022 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony, she joked, “Oh, by the way, I have a disease. Did you not notice? I’m not even wearing shoes.”
While Applegate’s new cheek mark has attracted attention, she has not said that it is connected to MS or to any other condition.
