The Real Housewives of New York Season 16 brought back fan favorite Carole Radziwill. She exited the series following a contentious Season 10. However, Carole hasn’t missed a beat and has reenergized RHONY. The cast also features three returning cast members: Jessel Taank, Erin Lichy, and Sai De Silva, plus two newbies.
Jessel has made her presence known by feuding with Erin and Carole. Her arguments with Erin have been nasty, and she even called Erin “a bootleg Houdini.” Extra points for using a catchy phrase.
Unfortunately, Jessel may not have realized that her fascination with Carolyn Bessette and the TV drama Love Story, which chronicled Carolyn’s romance and marriage to John F. Kennedy Jr., upset Carole.
Carole Radziwill calls out Jessel Taank over her Carolyn Bessette remarks and late Passover arrival
During a RHONY brunch, Jessel asked Carole if her late best friend, Carolyn, was “a b*tch.” She also droned on and on about the supposed Kennedy family curse.
“Do you not think the family is, like, cursed? The dad gets assassinated, then the mother has cancer,” Jessel remarked. “Then they both die.” For Carole, hearing her family members and best friend discussed so disrespectfully was too much.
After Jessel’s comments, Carole left the brunch. And Jessel seemingly didn’t realize her remarks had gone too far. During RHONY Season 16 Episode 3, Carole and newbie Daisy Toye went for a walk to discuss the brunch. Spoiler alert: Carole wasn’t happy with Jessel.
“That was so crazy. And I just didn’t even know what to say,” Carole told Daisy. “This is so excruciating. Like everyone’s American Love Story is my American Horror Story.” She added, “She’s watching that show. She knows that’s my family”
Daisy agreed, replying, “That’s so awful and so tone deaf.” However, Carole really popped off in her confessional. “Who talks about someone’s family as though it’s a f*cking cartoon? It was rude, thoughtless, insensitive,” the writer said. “Is there, like, a brain cell in her head?”
Meanwhile, it didn’t take long for Jessel to once again annoy her co-stars. Daisy hosted a Seder for Passover at her parents’ home in Brooklyn. Jessel was two hours late and arrived just as the Seder was beginning. “This Passover dinner be worth it. I don’t really travel into the depths of Brooklyn for anyone. I’m not Jessel from the Block,” Jessel quipped in her talking head, shouting out Jennifer Lopez.
While Jessel seemed unbothered by her late entrance, Carole was silently stewing. “Jessel’s just so rude. She definitely must have gotten hit by a city bike,” she said in her confessional. “There’s just no other reason to be two hours late to a three-hour dinner.”
Unless Jessel apologizes to Carole for her insensitive remarks, I foresee a rocky road ahead for this duo. And even with an apology, I feel that Carole will keep her guard up with Jessel.
