One of the most exciting and prolific filmmaking teams working in modern horror, writer / director / producer Spider One and star /editor / producer Krsy Fox return to the big screen with their fourth film in recent years, Big Baby.
Originally conceived as a movie-within-a-movie in the 2022 anthology film Allegoria, the title character of Big Baby has taken on a deadly life of their own in this blood-soaked meta slasher about a frustrated screenwriter (played by Brandon Scott) who accidentally conjures a vicious killer off the page and into real life. Suffice to say that chaotic carnage ensues, as this is one baby who won’t be put in timeout after throwing a tantrum (or beheading someone).
With Big Baby haunting VOD beginning August 7th from Brainstorm Media, Daily Dead had the pleasure of catching up with Spider One, Krsy Fox, and Brandon Scott to discuss their ambitious new slasher, including exploring the sometimes all-consuming nature of the creative process, dissecting the highs and lows of online fandom, how the amazing Barbara Crampton played a key part in Brandon Scott’s casting in the film, developing a believable chemistry between the film’s characters, and the joys of having Chaz Bono and Cher on board as executive producers (with the former also playing the role of Graham in a very memorable—and bloody—scene). And as an additional treat, Brandon Scott reflects on his experiences making the secretive Blair Witch (initially known as The Woods) which celebrates its 10th anniversary this September!
