Out Of The Further’ Trailer Debuts At CinemaCon

During its CinemaCon presentation Monday, Sony Pictures debuted the first trailer for Insidious: Out of the Further, the upcoming sixth installment in the horror franchise. Watch it above. The film bows on August 21.

Amelia Eve stars as Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house she grew up in, who discovers she can travel into The Further, the purgatorial realm of lost souls at the heart of the Insidious universe. When something evil comes after her, Gemma discovers an ability that changes everything: She doesn’t just enter The Further, she can bring what lives there back to the real world. Once the demons realize her power, our world becomes their playground.

Joining Eve are Brandon Perea, Lin Shaye, Misie Richardson-Sellers, Sam Spruell, Laura Gordon and Island Austin. Jacob Chas directs from a script he co-wrote with David Leslie Johnson. The logline is under wraps.

The film is produced by Jason Blum, Oren Peli, James Wan, and Leigh Whannell, with executive producers Ryan Turek, Steven Schneider, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Johnson.

Launching in 2010, the Insidious franchise from James Wan and Leigh Whannell delves into the theme of hauntings, primarily focusing on the existence of a malevolent realm known as The Further. This otherworldly dimension is inhabited by vengeful spirits and demons that seek to infiltrate the world of the living, often resulting in terrifying consequences for those who come across it.

The previous Insidious: The Red Door in 2023 became the horror series’ highest-grossing title with just under $200M worldwide. Since the franchise’s debut at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival, Insidious has become one of the most enduring and successful horror series of all time, grossing more than $740 million worldwide.
